Alan Grayson Goes ‘Rocky’ in Orlando

Monday, 18 October 2010 05:51 PM EDT

At a Saturday rally in Orlando, Fla., incumbent Democratic Rep. Alan Grayson strode on stage to the sound of “Eye of the Tiger,” the theme from “Rocky III,” CBSNews reports. Grayson told the crowd of union workers that they “will show central Florida the power of the people.”

Grayson, Webster, OrlandoGrayson followed his party’s line, attacking the Republican Party and outside groups such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, saying they had spent $2 million in the past six weeks running attack ads against him, and accused special interest groups of trying to buy the election.

Grayson won Florida’s 8th congressional district in 2008 in the shadow of President Barack Obama’s success among Florida voters.

Recent polling shows Grayson’s opponent, Republican Daniel Webster, a former state senator, several points ahead.
